New central IT initiatives will be launched from July 2019 to help provide better work and campus life experience to staff, students and department administrators. The new initiatives are Attendance@HKU, HKU Event Calendar, Convene Paperless Meetings and Mobile Payment for Department Services.
Colleagues and students joined the HKU Vertical Walk Challenge to support the Exercise is Medicine on Campus Month and show their commitment to keeping an active lifestyle.
For the second year, HKU was awarded the prestigious Gold Level ‘Exercise is Medicine on Campus’ recognition from the American College of Sports Medicine. The honour recognises the University’s culmination of years of hard work in promoting health and fitness among colleagues and students.
HKU garnered the Grand Award, an Innovative Measures Award and a Distinction in Physical Activity Promotion at the Joyful@Healthy Workplace Best Practices Award organised by the Occupational Safety and Health Council, the Labour Department and the Department of Health.
All faculties and departments are welcome to create their websites quickly and easily using the Cloud-based Website Content Management System introduced by the IT Task Force. This centrally-managed, shared service helps faculties and departments save time, effort and costs.
Departments will work easier with the streamlined process for requesting network access points. The standard lead time can be shortened from 3 months to 2.5 months.
