Colleagues and students joined the SMARTER Talk themed "Continuing Transformation of Towngas" conducted by Mr Daniel Fung, Head of Strategy and Innovation of The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas). 

All awardees and finalists of the Professional Services Individual and Team Award 2018 were recognised for their outstanding contribution in professional services at a Celebration Gathering. 

SMARTER Leaders (Light) kept themselves updated on the progress of the SMARTER@HKU Programme and exchanged ideas on how they could further contribute to the transformation journey. 

SMARTER Leaders (Light) evaluated the status of their Task Forces,  mapped out their key stakeholders and strengthened their skills in leading upwards, influencing others and identifying their own strengths.

SMARTER Leaders reviewed the status of their Task Forces and identified the upcoming challenges, strengthened their skills in leading upwards, understanding strategy, managing time and investing in strengths. 

Task Force Leaders and Deputy Leaders, Faculty Secretaries and members of the SMARTER@HKU Programme Management Office got together to discuss the SMARTER@HKU Programme, including its goals, progress and next steps.

Knowing what leadership style, or a combination of several styles, is most effective for leaders. SMARTER Leaders joined the Workshop to learn more about their leadership styles and ways to coach and develop trust with the others. The skills are important as they lead their Task Forces for the continuous improvement initiatives of the SMARTER@HKU Programme.

SMARTER@HKU has introduced the Smarter Collaborative Platform to strengthen synergy among and across the Task Forces. 

SMARTER Leaders (Light) strengthened their leadership skills in leading change, coaching, giving and receiving feedback, building trust and managing conflicts through the many activities at the Workshop. 

Colleagues joined the Work SMARTER Days to learn about ways of modernising professional services at the University in a relaxing atmosphere. They met members of the Programme Management Team for updates on the SMARTER@HKU Programme and discovered good practices of working smarter from a talk and booth games. 

Task Force Leaders and Deputy Leaders and members of the SMARTER@HKU Programme Management Office discussed mutual expectations through activities and devised actions to enhance future collaboration.

Members of the SMARTER Leaders (Light) cohort joined this 2-day Workshop to set their own aspirations for the SMARTER@HKU Programme and developed their leadership skills. 

SMARTER Leaders joined the 5-day Refine the Approach Workshop to reflect on the SMARTER@HKU change journey, build on success and adjust approaches when needed.

SMARTER@HKU organised a Celebration Gathering to recognise the Award Recipients and Finalists for the Professional Services Individual and Team Award 2017 and to celebrate their outstanding contribution in professional services.

SMARTER@HKU Programme organised a 5-day Embracing the Challenge Workshop to equip the SMARTER Leaders with the skills to respond to challenges when leading change with strategy, expertise and confidence. 

SMARTER@HKU kicked off the Leadership Development Programme to equip SMARTER Leaders with the mindset and skills they need to overcome challenges in driving the SMARTER@HKU Programme. 

Task Force members joined the LEAN Workshop to learn tips on using time and resources more effectively and leading change programmes.

The University of Hong Kong has become the first university in Asia to join the Lean HE Australasia Hub. Lean HE is a global network committed to promoting Lean and supporting service improvement efforts within Higher Education (HE).

Riding on the success of the Roadshow in August 2017 at the Centennial  Campus, SMARTER@HKU organised another Roadshow at the Sassoon Road Campus to introduce colleagues to the SMARTER@HKU Programme. 

The SMARTER@HKU Programme organised a Launch Ceremony to mark the commencement of its first wave of implementation. 

Task Force members of the SMARTER@HKU Programme joined a series of teambuilding workshops  to enhance their knowledge of partnering with teams and strengthening communication when driving change programmes. 

SMARTER@HKU organised a 3-day Roadshow to introduce colleagues to the SMARTER@HKU Programme and how it would facilitate the University to become Asia's Global University by 2025. 

Colleagues from Faculties and professional services departments joined the Idea-thon and exchanged views on ways of working smarter at HKU.

The SMARTER@HKU Programme was launched to modernise professional services for achieving the University's vision of becoming Asia’s Global University by 2025.
